Knowledge Base & FAQ

Comprehensive answers regarding DarkMatter Market security, access, and operations.

01. Getting Started

This website is a secure directory and information portal for Darknet DarkMatter Market. We provide PGP-verified mirror links, security tutorials, and status updates. We are an educational resource designed to help users avoid phishing sites and navigate the darknet safely. We do not host the market itself; we serve as a verified gateway to the official hidden service.

.onion links are special web addresses that point to hidden services on the Tor network. Unlike standard .com or .org domains, they are cryptographic hashes (specifically V3 addresses in modern Tor) that enable end-to-end encryption and location hiding. They ensure that you are connecting to the correct server without revealing the server's physical location or your own IP address.

Access requires the Tor Browser. First, download the Tor Browser from the official Tor Project website. Install and launch it. Then, copy one of the verified onion links from our Links page and paste it into the Tor Browser's address bar. Do not attempt to access these links using standard browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, as they cannot route traffic through the Tor network.

Once on the market login page, select "Register". You will be asked to create a unique username, a strong password, and a numeric PIN (used for withdrawals and purchases). The system will generate a mnemonic seed phrase for you. Save this seed phrase immediately in a secure, offline location. It is the only way to recover your account if you lose your password. Market admins cannot reset passwords.

02. Security & Privacy

Authentic links should always be verified using PGP (Pretty Good Privacy). The market signs its official mirror list with a private key. You can import the market's public key into your PGP software (like Kleopatra, GPG Suite, or portable PGP tools) and verify the signed message. If the signature is valid, the links are safe. We provide the signed message on our verified mirrors page.

Using any darknet market carries inherent risks. However, DarkMatter mitigates these through mandatory encryption, decentralized server architecture, and Monero exclusivity. To maximize your safety, you must also practice good Operational Security (OpSec): disable JavaScript in Tor (Security Level: Safest), never share personal info, always encrypt your address with the vendor's PGP key yourself (never trust auto-encrypt), and use a dedicated OS like Tails if possible.

For vendors, PGP 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is mandatory. For buyers, it is optional but highly recommended. When 2FA is enabled, logging in requires you to decrypt a random message using your private PGP key. This ensures that even if a hacker steals your password via a phishing site or keylogger, they cannot access your account or funds without your private key.

03. Payments & Escrow

Dark Matter Market is strictly Monero-only. We do not accept Bitcoin (BTC) due to its transparent ledger, which allows blockchain analysis firms to trace transactions and deanonymize users. Monero uses ring signatures, stealth addresses, and RingCT to obfuscate the sender, receiver, and amount. If you have Bitcoin, you must exchange it for XMR using a non-KYC exchange or swap service before depositing.

When you place an order, your XMR is moved to a secure market escrow wallet. The vendor is notified to ship the order but cannot access the funds yet. The funds remain in escrow for 14 days (or until you finalize). Once you receive and verify the product, you mark the order as "Finalize," releasing the funds to the vendor. If the item doesn't arrive, you can "Dispute" the order before the timer expires to freeze the funds for moderation.

Deposits typically require 10 confirmations on the Monero blockchain before becoming available in your market balance. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Do not panic if the funds do not appear instantly; XMR transactions require this confirmation depth for security and privacy reasons.

04. Orders & Vendors

We employ a rigorous four-tier verification process. Prospective vendors must pay a 500.00 XMR bond, provide proof of established reputation from other verified markets (Recon/Dread verified), pass a technical security audit, and maintain 98% uptime. This creates a high barrier to entry that filters out scammers and ensures a professional marketplace environment.

If an order is disputed, our hybrid system activates. First, an AI analyzes the transaction parameters, vendor history, and shipping data to suggest a resolution. Then, a human moderator reviews the case details and the AI recommendation to make a final decision. You may be asked to provide shipping evidence or communication logs. This process ensures fairness while speeding up resolution times.

Dark Matter Market has a strict code of ethics. We prohibit the sale of: weapons/explosives, poisons, fentanyl and its analogues, child exploitation material (CP), human trafficking services, murder-for-hire services, and malicious software intended to harm critical infrastructure (ransomware). Violation results in an immediate permanent ban and seizure of funds.

05. Technical Support

The Tor network can experience congestion or the market may be under DDOS attack. If the primary link is down, try the rotating mirrors listed on our homepage. We update these daily. If all links fail, wait 1-2 hours and try again. Do not search for links on Google or Wikipedia, as these are often phishing sites. Only use links signed by the official PGP key.

Due to our security architecture, administrators cannot view or reset user passwords or PINs. The only way to recover a lost account is by using the mnemonic seed phrase provided during registration. If you have lost both your password and your seed phrase, your account and any funds within it are permanently inaccessible.

For market-related issues (orders, deposits, vendor issues), you must log in to the market and open a support ticket via the dashboard. Support staff cannot help you via email or external chat apps.
